Since 2002, HO Wan Leng has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Optimal Consulting Group Pte Ltd for Asia. She embarked on her career in 1986 after graduating from university, accumulating over three decades of educational, consultancy, and corporate HR experience. Her educational journey took her through Kuala Lumpur and London, where she earned her B.A Hons (1986) and Postgrad. Dip-Ed (1990) at Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, followed by an MA in HRM (1997) with Distinction (UK) and Chartered Fellow CIPD (UK) in 2005.

Wan Leng anchored her HR consulting experience with significant business and operational responsibilities at Deloitte and Mercer Consulting. Later, she broadened her scope with pivotal regional and global roles in prominent corporations – initially, as the Asia Pacific Director (AP CHRO-1) for DELL, overseeing 10 countries, and subsequently as a Global Vice President (Global CHRO-1) for NOL Group/American President Lines, managing operations across 50+ countries.

Leading and managing regional and global HR operations, Wan Leng garnered extensive expertise in various people management domains, spanning individual and team effectiveness to organisational efficiency, and from executive compensation to talent assessments and e-HR systems. Consequently, she brings a blend of technical and business perspectives into her work.

Adhering to a philosophy of lifelong learning, Wan Leng has acquired user and facilitator certifications in multiple assessments, including Hogan Assessments System (US), Self Management Group (Canada), Assessio Systems (Sweden), Leadership Versatility Index (US), Lominger Suite of Tools (now Korn Ferry), EQi, and EQ360 (MHS Canada), and Mosaic Personality Tasks (UK).

Wan Leng’s overarching aspiration is to cultivate future leaders for Asia’s social, economic, and political roles. Over the years, she has assessed, coached, and mentored thousands of professionals and leaders, contributing to the potential of organisations and individuals for greater business success. Recognised as an expert in the HR industry, she frequently serves in an advisory capacity to chairmen, board members, CEOs, and top HR professionals.
